Carrot Cake Whipped Body Butter

STEP 1

To make this recipe, you will need a 16 oz glass or Pyrex measuring cup, and a pot that the cup fits into.

STEP 2

Put the measuring cup into a pot that’s about 1/4 full of simmering water. The water will heat the measuring cup from the outside.

STEP 3

Melt the coconut oil and vanilla-infused jojoba in the measuring cup. Use a glass stir rod or stainless steel spoon to mix.

STEP 4

Put the shea butter into a glass or stainless steel mixing bowl. (Hint: It helps if your shea butter is in smaller chunks.)

STEP 5

Pour the melted ingredients over the shea butter so it can soften.

STEP 6

Add the essential oils and stir gently.

STEP 7

Put the blend in the refrigerator or freezer to cool until a hard film on top is formed.

STEP 8

Use an emulsion blender or electric mixer to whip the ingredients together into a light, fluffy consistency.

STEP 9

Spoon the body butter into 3 - 2 oz glass jars.

Safety and dilution

This blend was created at a 1% dilution. We recommend a small patch test to ensure there is no skin sensitivity.

Kid safety: Safe for kids 10 and over.

Shelf Life

The ingredient with the shortest shelf life remaining becomes the shelf life of the entire blend.
