Guava Leaf Essential Oil
Psidium guajava
Guava Leaf essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of Psidium guajava. Ours is wildcrafted in Thailand.
The chemistry is unusual and fun to look at. It sits almost evenly between two families: monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes. D-limonene runs typically 22-27% in our batches, with β-caryophyllene close behind at 16-26% and α-pinene around 5-13%. D-limonene is the component many people know from citrus oils, and it's valued for its antibacterial and immune-stimulating character. There's a small amount of 1,8-cineole too, usually under 5%.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page. You can see how the numbers shift a little from distillation to distillation, which is exactly what you'd expect from a wildcrafted plant.
