Linden Blossom CO2 Select Extract Essential Oil

Linden Blossom CO2 Select Extract Essential Oil

Tilia cordata

Linden Blossom CO2 Select Extract comes from the small yellow blossoms of Tilia cordata, gathered from certified organic trees and extracted with pressurized carbon dioxide. Our batches have come from Bulgaria and India. A select extract is close to a liquid version of the whole blossom, and this one is water soluble, so it blends easily into water-based carriers.

The chemistry shifts more than most oils. Phenylethyl alcohol is the signature aromatic molecule here, ranging widely across our batches (under 1% in some, over 70% in others), with ethanol typically making up 38-99% and a little benzyl alcohol alongside it. The aroma is warm, sweet, and honeyed, and it is loved for the way it helps calm and center the heart. Like other floral extracts, it is lovely in skincare.

Every batch is independently GC-MS tested, and each report lives on this page.

Batch LIN-111 comes from certified organic linden blossom grown in Bulgaria, with the fragrant summer flowers of Tilia cordata gathered and taken through supercritical CO2 select extraction on July 15, 2025. That gentle, solvent-free method captures the honeyed, softly floral character of the fresh blossom far more faithfully than heat-driven approaches, giving an aroma that is sweet, warm, and quietly green.

GC-MS analysis of this exact batch shows phenylethyl alcohol at 73.31 percent, with butanediol isomers together near 8 percent and benzyl alcohol at 2.56 percent. This alcohol-rich profile accounts for the rosy-honey sweetness, while a small monoterpenol fraction (citronellol at 2.08 percent) adds the gentle, skin-friendly quality that makes this extract a favorite in emotionally supportive and comforting blends.

Thirteen components were identified in independent testing. The full GC-MS report and certificate of analysis for LIN-111 are available to download, so you can verify every number yourself.
