Magnolia Absolute

Magnolia Absolute is a solvent extracted absolute, made from organically grown magnolia in India.

Its chemistry doesn't look like most florals. The largest component in our recent batch is (E)-cinnamyl benzoate at about 22%, with eugenol and linalool pyranic oxide each around 13%. Esters together come to roughly 31%, including benzyl benzoate near 12% and phenylethyl benzoate near 10%, and they give the oil its soft, sweet depth. Eugenol is the component we usually talk about in warming blends. It's known for antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties, which is why people reach for eugenol-rich oils for comfort after exertion. Rich absolutes like this one are also valued for supporting emotional balance.
