Anise Essential Oil

Anise Essential Oil

Pimpinella anisum

Anise essential oil is steam distilled from the seeds of Pimpinella anisum, a member of the carrot family. Ours comes from Spain, from organically grown and wildcrafted plants. The aroma is sweet, warm, and spicy, with that unmistakable licorice-like character.

The chemistry here is remarkably one-note, in the best way. (E)-anethole runs typically 80-92% in our batches, and it's the component Anise is loved for: warming, soothing, and calming to inflammation. It's also why Anise is a traditional choice for supporting healthy digestion and for easing tight, achy muscles after exertion. Smaller amounts of γ-himachalene (about 1.6-3.4%) and an ester, pseudoisoeugenyl 2-methylbutyrate (roughly 1-5%), round out the profile. Emotionally, this is a blend of self-assurance and clarity.

Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and each batch's full report lives right on this page.
