Fennel Sweet Essential Oil

Fennel Sweet Essential Oil

Foeniculum vulgare

Fennel Sweet essential oil is steam distilled from the seeds of Foeniculum vulgare, a member of the Apiaceae family. Our batches have come from Egypt and Spain, both certified organic and wildcrafted. The aroma is sweet, fresh, and earthy with that unmistakable anise-like note, and it settles into a blend as a middle note.

The chemistry is dominated by one molecule. (E)-anethole, an ether, typically runs 51-85% in our batches, and it gives Fennel Sweet the antispasmodic and carminative character aromatherapists reach for. Limonene follows at roughly 4-15%, with fenchone up to about 10%. Fennel Sweet is also valued for its antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.

Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page, so you can see exactly what is in the bottle you have.
