Manuka Essential Oil

Manuka is steam distilled from the leaves of Leptospermum scoparium, and ours is wildcrafted in New Zealand. The aroma is sweet and earthy, warm and herbaceous, and it settles in nicely as a middle note.

What stands out in the reports is how sesquiterpene-rich this oil is, averaging about 57% of the profile, with ketones close behind at around 25%. Leptospermone is the one people talk about most, typically 13-18% in our batches, alongside calamenene at roughly 10-13% and δ-cadinene at 5-8%. Flavesone shows up in every batch too, usually 4-6%. Manuka is valued in aromatherapy for its antimicrobial, antifungal, and anti-allergenic properties, and that chemistry is a big part of why.
