Bergamot Essential Oil

Bergamot Essential Oil

Citrus bergamia

Bergamot is pressed from the rind of the fruit of Citrus bergamia. Ours comes from Italy, certified organic or organically grown, and we carry it both cold pressed and steam distilled.

d-Limonene leads the chemistry, typically 33-49% in our batches. That's the monoterpene behind the bright citrus aroma, and it's also valued for its antibacterial character. After that come the two components people reach for when they want to feel calmer: linalyl acetate, typically 25-31%, and linalool, which ranges more widely (about 5-22%). Both have been researched a great deal, and both are loved for relaxing the nervous system and bringing a little more ease into a day.

Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page, so you can see exactly what's in the bottle you have.
