Orange Blood Essential Oil
Citrus sinensis
Orange Blood is cold pressed from the rind of Citrus sinensis, and our batches come from certified organic fruit grown in Italy and South Africa. The aroma is sweet, fresh, and fruity, a classic top note.
Chemically it is about as monoterpene-rich as an oil gets. d-Limonene runs typically 90-95% in our batches, with β-myrcene at roughly 1-3% and small touches of sabinene, α-pinene, and the aldehydes octanal and decanal that give citrus oils their brightness. There is even a trace of linalool. Orange Blood is valued in aromatherapy for its antispasmodic, carminative, and antimicrobial properties, and it is especially well suited to supporting healthy digestion.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page, so you can see the chemistry for yourself.
