Lemon Verbena Essential Oil
Aloysia citrodora
Lemon Verbena (Aloysia citrodora) is steam distilled from the leaves, and it smells just like the plant does when you brush past it: sweet, fresh, and lemony. Our batches have come from certified organic growers in France, Morocco, and the USA.
The chemistry is a lively mix. D-limonene leads, typically 16-24% in our batches, and it's the component our citrus-rich oils are loved for, with antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal activity. Then come the two lemony aldehydes, geranial (typically 10-12%) and neral (typically 7-9%), which together give the oil much of its bright character. Lemon Verbena is valued in aromatherapy as an antimicrobial oil, and it's especially well suited to supporting emotional balance.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page.
