Chamomile Roman Essential Oil
Chamaemelum nobile
Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) is steam distilled from the small white flowers of a plant in the Asteraceae family. Our batches have come from organically grown and certified organic fields in England and Bulgaria. The aroma is sweet, herbaceous, and a little fruity, and it sits as a harmonizing middle note in a blend.
What stands out on the GC-MS report is how much of this oil is esters, typically around 76% across our batches. Methallyl angelate usually runs 11-16%, isoamyl angelate 6-8%, with methylamyl angelate and isobutyl angelate adding more. There is a bit of (E)-pinocarveol too, usually 4-8%. This is the ester-rich chemistry Roman Chamomile is loved for, valued in aromatherapy for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, and for the soothing, harmonizing quality it brings to a blend.
Every batch is independently GC-MS tested, and each batch report lives right here on this page.
