Helichrysum italicum Essential Oil (Corsica)

Helichrysum is steam distilled from the flowering tops of Helichrysum italicum, and every batch we carry comes from Corsica, either certified organic or wildcrafted.

The chemistry is ester-dominant. Neryl acetate leads the way, typically 24-39% in our batches, with the sesquiterpene γ-curcumene around 6-11%. Then there are the italidiones, the ketones that are particular to this oil, running up to about 9%. Those italidione compounds are the reason Helichrysum is so loved for skin support. The aroma is sweet and rich, a little like honey, fruit, and tea, with warm herbaceous notes underneath. It's a comforting oil emotionally, too.
