Helichrysum italicum Essential Oil (Croatia)

Helichrysum italicum is steam distilled from the small golden flowers of a plant in the Asteraceae family. Ours comes from Croatia, from certified organic, organically grown, and wildcrafted material. The aroma is sweet and herbaceous, with fruity, rosy notes sitting in the middle.

This oil leans sesquiterpene-rich, averaging about 41% across those components, with γ-curcumene typically 10-15% in our batches. Then there's neryl acetate, an ester, usually 7-18%, and α-pinene, usually 9-21%. α-Pinene is one of the reasons I love this chemistry; it is known for antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Helichrysum itself is valued as an antioxidant and has a real affinity for skin care blends.
