Ginger Essential Oil
Zingiber officinale
Ginger is steam distilled from the roots and rhizomes of Zingiber officinale. Ours comes from organically grown plants in India, Indonesia, Madagascar, and Thailand, and the aroma is sweet, woodsy, spicy, and warm, with a lemony edge.
Ginger is a sesquiterpene-rich oil, with that family averaging around 52% across our batches. α-Zingiberene leads the way (typically 15-25% in our batches), with β-sesquiphellandrene around 7-13% and the monoterpene camphene ranging widely, roughly 3-19%. This is the warming chemistry Ginger is loved for. It's valued in aromatherapy as an analgesic, antispasmodic, carminative, and antioxidant oil, and it's especially well suited to supporting healthy digestion.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page, so you can see exactly what's in the bottle you're using.
