Yarrow Essential Oil

Yarrow Essential Oil

Achillea millefolium

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is steam distilled from the flowers, and the batches on this page come from certified organic growing in Bulgaria and the United Kingdom. The oil pours a deep blue-green, and the aroma is sweet and herbaceous with a camphoraceous edge.

The chemistry is layered. Monoterpenes lead, with sabinene typically 15-23% in our batches and β-pinene around 11-16%. Then come the sesquiterpenes, mostly germacrene D at roughly 8-13%, and chamazulene, which runs 3-9% and gives the oil its color. Yarrow has long been trusted where things feel sore and worked hard, and it is valued in aromatherapy for its antispasmodic and antimicrobial character. It is a comforting oil to reach for after exertion.

Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page.
