Sugandha Kokila Essential Oil
Cinnamomum glaucescens
Sugandha Kokila is steam distilled from the dried fruit of Cinnamomum glaucescens, a tree in the Laurel family. Ours is wildcrafted in Nepal. The aroma is warm and sweet, a little spicy, with a fruity, camphoraceous edge that makes it easy to blend.
The chemistry is led by the oxide 1,8-cineole, typically 12-27% in our batches. That component is loved for supporting clear, comfortable breathing, and it brings antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory character too. Next comes methyl cinnamate, an ester, usually around 9-14%, along with the monoterpene alpha-phellandrene at roughly 5-11%. Together they give this oil its reputation for easing everyday aches and discomfort, which is why it shows up so often in body oils.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page.
