Fingerroot Essential Oil
Boesenbergia rotunda
Fingerroot (Boesenbergia pandurata) is steam distilled from the rhizomes of a plant in the ginger family. Ours comes from Thailand, organically grown. The aroma is sweet and warm, fresh and camphoraceous, with a soft floral edge, and it sits as a middle note in a blend.
The chemistry is lively. (E)-beta-ocimene leads, typically 27-37% in our batches, followed by camphor at 16-19%, geraniol at 11-14%, and 1,8-cineole at 10-12%. That camphor and cineole pairing is why people reach for Fingerroot when they want a clear head and easy, open breathing. The oil is valued in aromatherapy for its comforting, antispasmodic character, welcome after a long day of moving your body.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page.
