Black Spruce Essential Oil
Picea mariana
Black Spruce (Picea mariana) is steam distilled from the needles and twigs of trees growing in the cold northern forests of Canada and the United States. Our batches come from both certified organic and wildcrafted harvests, and the aroma is exactly what you'd hope for: resinous, sweet, woodsy, with that clean piney lift.
The chemistry is mostly monoterpenes, close to two thirds of the oil, led by camphene (typically 14-22% in our batches) and α-pinene (typically 12-19%). What makes Black Spruce distinctive is the ester bornyl acetate, typically 20-27%. That combination is loved for its calming, grounding quality, the kind that supports an easy deep breath and comforts tired muscles after a long day.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and each batch's full report lives right here on this page.
