Siberian Fir Essential Oil

Siberian Fir is steam distilled from the needles of Abies sibirica. Ours is wildcrafted in Russia, much of it from Western Siberia. The aroma is sweet, fresh, and balsamic, with a piney, camphoraceous edge.

The chemistry is a little unusual for a conifer. Bornyl acetate, an ester, typically runs 26-37% in our batches, and it's the component this oil is loved for when you want something calming and comforting after exertion. The rest is mostly monoterpenes: camphene around 18-25%, with δ-3-carene at 7-15% and α-pinene at 8-13%. Those last two are the ones people reach for to support clear, easy breathing.
