Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Eucalyptus citriodora is steam distilled from the leaves, and ours comes from Madagascar and South Africa, certified organic, organically grown, or wildcrafted depending on the harvest. The aroma is fresh, lemony, and lightly camphoraceous.

What makes this oil so distinctive is citronellal, an aldehyde that runs high here: typically 69-88% in our batches. Citronellal is the reason lemon-scented eucalyptus is such a favorite for natural insect repellency. Alongside it you'll find monoterpenols, mostly citronellol (about 3-9%) with isopulegol close behind. Citronellol is loved for being anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and gentle on skin, and this oil is also valued for its antispasmodic, antimicrobial, and calming character.

Batch EUC-114 comes from certified organic Eucalyptus citriodora grown in Madagascar, where the leaves are steam distilled to capture the bright, lemony-sweet character this oil is known for. Distillation was completed in March 2026, and the oil carries a fresh, citronella-like lift with a soft herbaceous base. Aldehydes make up nearly 79% of the profile, the family behind this oil's crisp, uplifting aroma, while monoterpenols at just over 11% round it out with a gentler, skin-friendly quality often turned to for supporting comfort and clarity. Chemistry highlights

Citronellal lands at 78.42%, essentially on top of the 78.06% mean across our eight analyzed batches of *Eucalyptus citriodora* and comfortably inside the 68.6-88.05% span we have seen. What makes EUC-114 interesting is the supporting cast. Citronellyl acetate reaches 1.23%, just past the 0.07-1.19% range recorded in our other batches, and it sits alongside 5.2% of its parent alcohol citronellol, a tidy ester-alcohol pairing. The isopulegol picture is lopsided this time: 5.92% isopulegol against only 0.27% of the neoiso- isomer, well under the 1.48-7.39% that isomer has shown when detected. 1,8-cineole is quiet at 0.48%, half the 0.98% mean, leaving the aldehyde-dominant profile (78.65% of the total) with very little camphoraceous lift.
