Frankincense Carterii Essential Oil

Frankincense Carterii is steam distilled from the resin of Boswellia carterii. Ours comes from Somaliland, from both certified organic and wildcrafted harvests, and the aroma is resinous and woodsy with a fresh, piney, slightly lemony lift.

This is a monoterpene-rich oil, averaging about 81% monoterpenes across our batches. α-Pinene leads the way (typically 24-72% in our batches, most often in the 40s), with d-limonene at roughly 2-20% and β-myrcene around 3-18%. α-Pinene is the component people study for its antimicrobial activity, and it's a big part of why frankincense is such a steady companion for meditation and breath work. Frankincense itself has long been valued in skincare and complexion blends.
