Frankincense Sacra is distilled from the resin of Boswellia sacra, a tree that grows wild in Oman. Ours is wildcrafted resin, hydro-distilled or steam-distilled depending on the batch, with that warm, resinous, balsamic aroma you expect from a good sacra.

The chemistry here is monoterpene country, around 91% of the oil on average. α-Pinene leads by a wide margin, typically 59-80% in our batches, and it is loved for its antimicrobial character. You will also see d-limonene (about 2-9%) and δ-3-carene (about 1-6%), a component known for its clearing, mucolytic quality. Frankincense is a favorite for meditation and for daily skin care that supports a clear, even skin tone, and sacra is especially well suited to supporting stress.

Batch FRS-114 comes from wildcrafted Boswellia sacra resin harvested in Oman, the arid homeland long associated with this particular frankincense. The resin was steam distilled in May 2026, a method that carries the lighter, brighter aromatic fractions into the oil while leaving the heavier resinous material behind. The result is a clear, bright, softly citrus-tinged frankincense with the dry warmth and quiet lift that make it a favorite for meditation, breathwork, and grounding blends that support a sense of calm and clarity. Because the trees grow wild rather than under cultivation, each season's oil carries its own signature, which is exactly why we test every lot rather than relying on a general profile. Chemistry highlights

α-Pinene leads at 62.37%, which sits toward the low end of the 58.79-80.41% span we've recorded across ten analyzed batches of this *Boswellia sacra* (mean 70.05%). The slack gets taken up further down the monoterpene list: δ-3-carene at 5.89% is near the top of its 1.1-6.08% range, and limonene reads 6.35%. Total monoterpenes still land at 88.99%, so the shape is familiar even as the internal balance shifts. FRS-114 is a busy chromatogram, 72 components, and the tail is where it gets fun. The pinene oxidation family shows up in order: (E)-verbenol 0.81%, (E)-pinocarveol 0.71%, α-campholene aldehyde 0.47%, verbenone 0.24%, α-pinene oxide 0.03%. Two ester/alcohol pairs also appear, bornyl acetate (0.56%) with borneol, and linalyl acetate with linalool at 0.10%.
