Kunzea Essential Oil

Kunzea Essential Oil

Kunzea ambigua

Kunzea (Kunzea ambigua) is a shrub from Australia, and our oil is steam distilled from its leaves. The batches we bring in are organically grown or wildcrafted. The aroma is sweet and earthy, with herbaceous and citrus notes.

The chemistry leans heavily on monoterpenes. α-Pinene is the star, typically 28-54% in our batches, and it's the component people reach for when muscles are objecting after a long hike or a strenuous workout. There's 1,8-cineole too, usually 11-16%, giving the oil its fresh, clearing quality. Then a soft base of sesquiterpenols, mostly globulol and viridiflorol, which together often make up around 16%. That combination is why Kunzea shows up in so many Australian blends for tired bodies and tired feet.

Every batch is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page.
