Petitgrain (Bigarade) Essential Oil
Citrus aurantium var. Amara or Bigaradia
Petitgrain (Bigarade) comes from the leaves of the bitter orange tree, Citrus aurantium var. amara. Ours is steam distilled, and our batches have come from Egypt and Paraguay, both certified organic and wildcrafted. The aroma is fresh and citrusy with an exotic edge, and it sits as a middle note in a blend.
What stands out in the reports is how ester-rich this oil is. Linalyl acetate typically runs 37-51% in our batches, with linalool at about 20-29% and a little α-terpineol alongside it. Those two components have been researched a lot, and they are loved for their calming, skin-soothing character. Petitgrain is a favorite for supporting emotional balance and restful sleep.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and each batch's full report lives right here on this page.
