Linaloe Berry Essential Oil
Bursera linanoe
Linaloe Berry (Bursera linanoe) is steam distilled from the ripe berries of a small tree in the Burseraceae family, the same family as frankincense and myrrh. Ours comes from organically grown trees in India, where the oil is often called Indian lavender. The chemistry explains the name. Monoterpenols lead the way, with linalool around 40%, and esters follow, with linalyl acetate a little over 20%. That is the same calming pairing we know from lavender, and I love meeting it in a berry. Alpha-terpineol, geranyl acetate, and neryl acetate add to the soft, sweet, floral character, and a small amount of beta-caryophyllene, unusual company for a linalool oil, gives a quiet warmth underneath. Monoterpenes make up very little of this oil, which helps it keep well. Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page. You can see exactly how the numbers shift from harvest to harvest.

This batch of Linaloe Berry essential oil (LNB-101) comes from organically grown Bursera linanoe (syn. Bursera delpechiana) in India, steam distilled from the berries in July 2026. Linaloe is prized for its soft, sweet, gently woody-floral aroma, a scent that settles a room quickly and blends beautifully into perfumery accords and calming diffuser work. Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested before it reaches our shelves, and the analysis for LNB-101 is published here alongside its certificate of analysis. You can download both and read the full component profile yourself rather than taking a description at its word.
Chemistry highlights
Batch LNB-101 reads as a linalool/linalyl acetate axis with linalool at 39.59% and its acetate at 22.25% carry more than 60% of the oil, and the monoterpenol total (53.94%) sits over the ester total (30.91%). What I like is that the whole acetate family tracks its parent alcohols here, geranyl acetate 4.77% and neryl acetate 2.75% alongside nerol 1.87%, so the esterification pattern is visible. The two linalool oxides are nearly mirror-matched at 3.49% (E) and 3.41% (Z), with 1.26% of the 2,6-dimethyloct-7-en-2,6-diol that usually travels with them. α-Terpineol is notably present at 9.27%. Across 51 identified components, look at the 0.42% (Z)-3-hexenyl butyrate, a small green-fruity marker of *Bursera linanoe* berry distillate.
