Juniperus communis
Juniper Berry is steam distilled from the small berry-like fruits of Juniperus communis. Ours comes from certified organic harvests in Albania and Bulgaria, and it smells the way you would hope: resinous, woodsy, fresh, and piney.
The chemistry is mostly monoterpenes, averaging around 72% across our batches. α-Pinene leads the way, typically 25-52% in our batches, with β-myrcene usually 8-25% and a bit of sabinene behind it. Those two components are the ones people point to when they talk about Juniper Berry's support for circulation. α-Pinene is also loved for its soothing, comforting quality after exertion, and this oil's grounding scent is a favorite for supporting mental clarity and focus.
