Mastic Essential Oil
Pistacia lentiscus
Mastic is steam distilled from the leaves of Pistacia lentiscus, and ours comes from certified organic plants grown in Corsica. The aroma is resinous and earthy, warm and radiant, with a herbaceous edge that settles into a base note.
The chemistry is led by monoterpenes, which average around 72% across our batches. α-Pinene is the headliner, typically 17-26%, followed by β-myrcene at roughly 11-25% and α-phellandrene at about 6-10%. α-Pinene is loved for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory character, and mastic as a whole has a long reputation for supporting the body through aches and everyday discomfort. That combination of resinous aroma and monoterpene-rich chemistry is why so many people reach for it after physical exertion.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page.
