Nutmeg Essential Oil
Myristica fragrans
Nutmeg essential oil is steam distilled from wildcrafted Myristica fragrans. Ours comes from Indonesia, and the batches on this page span distillations from 2015 through 2023.
This is a monoterpene-rich oil, averaging around 76% monoterpenes. The two leaders trade places from batch to batch: α-pinene typically 17-22% in our batches, sabinene typically 17-23%, with β-pinene right behind at 14-16%. α-Pinene is the component people reach for when they want antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory support, and it is part of why nutmeg feels so comforting after exertion. There is also terpinen-4-ol, typically 4-7%, known for antimicrobial and immune-supporting effects, and myristicin, an ether that holds steady around 10-12% and is characteristic of nutmeg.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page.
