Blue Tansy Essential Oil
Tanacetum annuum
Blue Tansy comes from the flowers of Tanacetum annuum, a plant in the Asteraceae family. Ours is steam distilled in Morocco from organically grown and wildcrafted flowers, and it carries that sweet, herbaceous, camphoraceous aroma the oil is known for.
Monoterpenes lead the profile, averaging around 53%. Sabinene is the largest single component, typically 13-23% in our batches, with camphor at 9-16% and beta-myrcene usually in the mid single digits. Chamazulene, the molecule behind the deep blue color, runs about 5-9%. This is the chemistry people love Blue Tansy for: antispasmodic, antimicrobial, and antioxidant character, help with soothing aches and discomfort, and support for calming irritated skin. It's also a good choice when you want natural insect repellency.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and each batch's full report lives right here on this page.
