Saro Essential Oil
Cinnamosma fragrans
Saro is steam distilled from the leaves of Cinnamosma fragrans, a wildcrafted tree growing in Madagascar. It smells fresh and camphoraceous, a lot like Eucalyptus, but with a warmer, softer aspect.
The chemistry explains much of that character. 1,8-cineole leads the profile, typically around 37% in our batches, with a spread of 11-44%. That's the component loved for supporting clear breathing and respiratory comfort, and it brings anti-inflammatory character too. d-Limonene comes next in most batches, typically 8-34%, another component associated with easing inflammation. Linalool sits behind them at roughly 3-15%. Saro and Eucalyptus complement each other well, and Saro is a lovely choice in a cooling blend for warm, tight muscles after exertion.
