White Sage Essential Oil
Salvia apiana
White Sage (Salvia apiana) is steam distilled from the leaves of a plant in the mint family, and ours is grown certified organic in the USA. The aroma is exactly what you would expect: camphoraceous, herbaceous, and bright.
The chemistry explains a lot of that. 1,8-cineole leads, typically 35-49% in our batches, and it is the component people reach for when they want a clearing, open feeling and easy breathing. Camphor follows at roughly 10-15%, which gives the oil its sharp, penetrating edge. Monoterpenes like beta-pinene and alpha-pinene make up much of the rest. Together this profile is loved for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory character, with a calming quality underneath all that crispness.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page.
