Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe barbadensis
Aloe Vera Gel (Aloe barbadensis) comes from the leaves of the aloe plant, cold pressed and processed into a purified leaf extract and inner leaf fillet. Our batches have come from organically grown plants in the USA and Mexico. It's a slightly cloudy, slightly viscous liquid with a light, fresh aroma, and it dissolves in both water and alcohol, which makes it easy to combine with hydrosols and other water-based ingredients.
Aloe has a silky, non-sticky texture and absorbs quickly, so it won't leave skin feeling oily. It's soothing, hydrating, and cooling, and it's a favorite base for skincare blends. Aloe helps keep skin hydrated and soft, and it supports the skin's own repair. Gentle enough that I reach for it in blends for kids. A patch test for sensitivity is always a good idea. Shelf life is about two years.
Every batch we bring in is logged on this page with its country of origin and best-by date, and certificates of analysis are available to download where we have them.
