Apricot Kernel Oil
Prunus armeniaca
Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus armeniaca) is cold pressed from the kernels of small, wild heirloom apricots. Our batches have come from India, wildcrafted from trees that have grown in the Himalayan valleys for centuries in their natural, unhybridized form. Cold pressing keeps the oil's delicate character intact.
It pours as a light yellow, semi-viscous liquid with a mild aroma, almond-like, slightly nutty, and slightly fruity. It is soluble in oil and alcohol. This is a lightweight, soothing oil that is rich in skin-loving nutrients and non-comedogenic. It can help ease irritation and is a kind choice for sensitive skin and scalps, bringing softness and a quiet sense of calm to a blend.
Every batch we receive is logged on this page with its origin and best-by date, and certificates of analysis are available to download where we have them.

- Safety
- Patch test for sensitivity is recommended. This oil is cold-pressed from apricot seeds (kernels), which are closely related to almonds and other stone fruits. If you have a nut or stone fruit allergy, consult your healthcare provider before use. This apricot oil is edible as it doesn't contain amygdalin (a compound with cyanogenic potential found in bitter apricot kernels).
