Baobab Seed Oil
Adansonia digitata
Baobab Seed Oil is cold pressed from the seeds of Adansonia digitata, the wide, sculptural tree that grows across southern Africa. Our batches have come from Zimbabwe and South Africa, some certified organic, some organically grown, and some wildcrafted.
It pours as a yellow, slightly viscous liquid with a slightly nutty aroma. It is soluble in oil and alcohol. Baobab is deeply nourishing and softens dry skin, and it is known to restore and re-moisturize the outer layer of the skin. Our own teaching describes it as skin regenerative and toning, which is why it turns up so often in facial and body blends. Shelf life is about five years. A patch test for sensitivity is a good idea.
Every batch we bring in is logged on this page with its origin and best-by date, and certificates of analysis are available to download where we have them.
