Beeswax Pellets

Beeswax Pellets

Cera flava

Beeswax is the wax bees build their comb from, gathered and processed into small pellets that are easy to measure and quick to melt. Ours (Cera flava) has come from New Zealand across every batch we have logged so far, from organically grown sources. The pellets are solid and yellow, and they smell just like beeswax, warm and honey-like.

Beeswax dissolves in oil and in alcohol, which is why it works so well as the thickener in salves, balms, and lotion bars. Melt it with a carrier oil and it firms the blend into something you can carry with you. It is also well suited to supporting natural insect repellency. Shelf life is long, around 20 years. A patch test for sensitivity is a good idea.

Every batch we bring in is logged on this page with its origin and best-by date, with certificates of analysis available to download where we have them.
