Chamomile German Essential Oil (Bulgaria)
Matricaria recutita
German chamomile (Matricaria recutita) is that vibrant blue oil with a sweet, strong, herbaceous scent. Ours is steam distilled from the flowers of organically grown or certified organic plants, with batches sourced from Bulgaria and England.
The chemistry is mostly sesquiterpenes. (E)-\u03b2-farnesene leads the way, typically 21-44% in our batches, followed by the bisabolol oxides B and A (about 6-17% and 5-15%). Chamazulene runs around 3-8%, and it's the component behind that deep blue color. This is the profile people reach for when skin feels hot, tender, or irritated. German chamomile has a cooling presence, and it quiets "hot" emotions too, inspiring patience and calm.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page.
