Clary Sage Essential Oil
Salvia sclarea
Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea) is steam distilled from the flowering tops. Our batches have come from certified organic farms in Bulgaria, France, and Spain.
This oil is mostly esters, and linalyl acetate leads the way. It averages around 54% across our batches and has run as high as 75%. Linalool comes next, typically 10-30%, with a little α-terpineol (up to about 5%). Linalool and linalyl acetate are the same pair that makes Lavender so well loved. They are calming, quieting components, the kind you reach for when you want more peace in your day. Esters are gentle and skin-soothing too, which is part of why Clary Sage blends so easily into body oils.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page.
