Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is steam distilled from the flowers, and ours comes from certified organic farms in Bulgaria.

The chemistry is what makes this oil so useful. Esters lead the way, with linalyl acetate typically 26-35% in our batches, and monoterpenols follow close behind, with linalool typically 21-29%. I love that combination. The esters are the skin-soothing part, and linalool is a molecule known for its calming character. Smaller amounts of lavandulyl acetate, terpinen-4-ol, and the ocimenes round out the profile and give each distillation its own soft, sweet, herbaceous personality.
