Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavandula angustifolia

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is steam distilled from the flowers, and ours comes from certified organic farms in Bulgaria.

The chemistry is what makes this oil so useful. Esters lead the way, with linalyl acetate typically 26-35% in our batches, and monoterpenols follow close behind, with linalool typically 21-29%. I love that combination. The esters are the skin-soothing part, and linalool is a molecule known for its calming character. Smaller amounts of lavandulyl acetate, terpinen-4-ol, and the ocimenes round out the profile and give each distillation its own soft, sweet, herbaceous personality.

Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page. You can see exactly how the numbers shift from harvest to harvest.

Batch LAB-115 comes from certified organic lavender fields in Bulgaria, one of the classic growing regions for Lavandula angustifolia. The flowering tops were steam distilled at peak season in July 2026, giving an oil with the soft, sweet, herbaceous top note and rounded floral heart that Bulgarian lavender is known for. GC-MS analysis of this batch identified 79 individual components. Linalyl acetate leads at 31.04 percent, followed by linalool at 28.51 percent and terpinen-4-ol at 5.14 percent. That puts esters at 39.34 percent of the profile, a family associated with calming, settling qualities, with monoterpenols close behind at 37.11 percent, a family valued for its gentle, skin-friendly character. Together they explain why this oil feels so easy to reach for at the end of a long day. This exact batch was independently GC-MS tested, and the full report and certificate of analysis are available to download so you can see precisely what is in the bottle.

Chemistry highlights

LAB-115 comes in nearly balanced between its two dominant families: esters at 39.34% against monoterpenols at 37.11%, driven by linalyl acetate (31.04%) sitting alongside its parent alcohol linalool (28.51%).
