Cocoa Butter

Cocoa Butter is cold pressed from the seeds of Theobroma cacao. Every batch we have brought in has come from Ecuador, and all of it has been certified organic. It arrives as a yellow, solid butter with a chocolate-like aroma. That smell alone is enough to make people fall in love with it a little. It is soluble in oil and alcohol, and it keeps well for about four years.

Cocoa butter nourishes and protects the skin. It is gentle enough for sensitive, delicate, and mature skin, and it adds a silky texture to body butters and balms. It is also considered antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, skin regenerative, and toning. We recommend a patch test for sensitivity.

Every batch we receive is logged on this page with its country of origin and best-by date, and certificates of analysis are available to download where we have them.
