Frankincense Hydrosol

Frankincense Hydrosol (Boswellia carterii) is steam distilled from the resin. Hydrosols are made in the same distillation that gives us essential oils, and the water itself carries a gentle imprint of the plant. Most of our batches have been distilled in the USA, with several coming from Somaliland, and all of them from certified organic material.

It is a clear liquid with a resinous, balsamic aroma that reads dry and smooth. In blending it sits as a middle-to-base note, adding warmth and complexity. Our own materials describe this hydrosol as gentle, with analgesic, antibacterial, immunostimulant, and mucolytic qualities, a mild way to support wellness. It is soluble in water, so it mixes easily into sprays and rinses. Plan on about a year and a half of shelf life.
