Helichrysum Splendidum Essential Oil
Helichrysum splendidum
Helichrysum splendidum belongs to the Asteraceae family, and this oil is steam distilled from the flowers. Ours comes from South Africa, from plants that are organically grown or wildcrafted. The aroma is fresh and earthy, with minty and floral edges, and it sits as a middle note in a blend.
The chemistry here is sesquiterpene-led, with that family averaging close to 40% in our batches. Germacrene D and delta-cadinene carry most of it. Beta-phellandrene, a monoterpene, runs roughly 14-20% in the batches where we see it. Helichrysum splendidum is valued in aromatherapy for its antioxidant, antimicrobial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, which is a lovely set of qualities for a flower oil.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right on this page.
