Hops Oil Azacca
Humulus lupulus
Hops oil comes from the flowers of Humulus lupulus, and this one is the Azacca variety. Ours is steam distilled from hops grown in the USA.
The chemistry is led by β-myrcene, which ran between 63% and 71% in our recent batches. Myrcene is a monoterpene loved for its calming, soothing character. Behind it sit two sesquiterpenes, α-caryophyllene (also called humulene) at roughly 8-12% and β-caryophyllene at about 5-7%, which round the oil out and add to its quieting, comforting feel. Hops is valued in aromatherapy as a calming oil, and this composition shows you why.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and the full report for each one lives right here on this page. You can read the numbers yourself.
