Jasmine Absolute (Sambac) Essential Oil
Jasminum sambac
Jasmine Sambac Absolute comes from the flowers of Jasminum sambac, a member of the Oleaceae family. Ours is organically grown in India and extracted with solvent, which is what makes it an absolute rather than a distilled oil. The aroma is exotic and sensual, sweet and fresh with a soft herbaceous edge, and it sits in the middle-base of a blend.
The chemistry is layered. Esters lead the profile overall, with benzyl acetate typically 7-12% in our batches and methyl anthranilate around 5-9%. (E,E)-alpha-farnesene, a sesquiterpene, runs about 11-16%, and linalool sits near 6-9%. Jasmine Sambac is valued in aromatherapy for its antibacterial and antioxidant properties, and it is especially well suited to supporting emotional balance.
Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and each batch's full report lives right here on this page.
