Jojoba Oil

Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) is cold pressed from the seeds of a desert shrub. It isn't technically an oil at all, but a liquid wax, which is part of why it lasts so long. Our batches have come from certified organic growers in Israel and the United States.

It's a yellow, slightly viscous liquid with a faint nutty aroma, so it stays quietly in the background of a blend. Jojoba is soluble in oil and alcohol. It's a nourishing carrier with skin regenerative, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and tonic properties, which makes it a comfortable base for body oils, roll-ons, and salves. The shelf life is around 20 years, longer than just about any other carrier you'll work with. A patch test for sensitivity is always a good idea.

Every batch we bring in is logged on this page with its country of origin and best-by date, and certificates of analysis are available to download where we have them.
