Rose Otto Essential Oil

Rose Otto is steam distilled from the flowers of Rosa x damascena. Ours comes from certified organic growing in Bulgaria.

The chemistry is dominated by monoterpenols, averaging around 61% across our batches. Citronellol leads the way, typically 27-36% in our batches, with geraniol at about 14-22% and nerol at 7-12%. That soft, alcohol-rich profile is a big part of why Rose Otto is loved as a cooling and calming oil. It's soothing and uplifting to be around, and because it's distilled rather than solvent extracted, it's the rose people reach for on sensitive skin. It has a long history as a skincare favorite for dry or mature skin.
