Thyme ct Thymol Essential Oil

Thyme ct Thymol Essential Oil

Thymus zygis ct. thymol

Thyme ct thymol is steam distilled from the flowering tops of Thymus vulgaris ct thymol. Ours comes from certified organic farms in Spain. The aroma is woodsy, herbaceous, spicy, and warm.

The chemistry here is dominated by one molecule. Thymol, a phenol, typically runs 46-53% in our batches, and it is the component this oil is known for. Thymol is trusted for its antimicrobial and antifungal character, and it has been studied for anti-inflammatory activity too. Alongside it sit the monoterpenes, mostly p-cymene (typically 14-20%) and gamma-terpinene (about 8-10%), plus a small amount of linalool (roughly 4-8%), a monoterpenol that is soothing to skin. This is a strong oil, so it shines in low dilutions.

Every batch we bring in is independently GC-MS tested, and each batch report lives right on this page.
