Carrot Seed Wild Essential Oil (Queen Anne's Lace)

Wild Carrot, also called Queen Anne's Lace, is steam distilled from the seeds of Daucus carota. Ours comes from France, from both certified organic and wildcrafted plants. The aroma is earthy and herbaceous with a true carrot note, and it sits as a middle note in a blend.

The chemistry leads with an ester, geranyl acetate, at roughly 33-39% in our recent batches. Behind it come the monoterpenes: α-pinene around 13-20%, with sabinene near 7-9%. α-Pinene is one of those components known for antimicrobial activity, which is part of why I reach for Wild Carrot in hand soaps and shower gels. The oil itself is valued in aromatherapy for its skin regenerative and antifungal properties.
