Wintergreen (Gaultheria fragrantissima) is steam distilled from the leaves of wildcrafted plants in Nepal. The aroma is sweet, fresh, and minty, and it is unmistakable the moment you open the bottle.

This is one of the simplest chemistries you will ever look at on a GC-MS report. Methyl salicylate, an ester, runs typically 98.5-99.9% in our batches, with only traces of ethyl salicylate, eugenol, and linalool alongside it. Methyl salicylate is loved for its cooling quality and its ability to calm inflammation, and it can help reduce the presence of microbes. That combination makes Wintergreen a favorite in blends meant to soothe the body after exertion.
