Yarrow Hydrosol
Achillea millefolium
Yarrow Hydrosol is steam distilled from the flowers of Achillea millefolium. Every batch we've logged, going back to 2017, has come from certified organic plants grown in the USA. The distillate is a clear, transparent liquid, water-like in appearance, and it mixes readily into water and alcohol.
The aroma is herbaceous and camphoraceous with a slightly sweet, floral edge. This is a gentle hydrosol with analgesic, antispasmodic, antimicrobial, and digestive qualities, which is why it's so often reached for when something feels sore or achy. Yarrow has a long history of soothing discomfort. Achilles is said to have used it for his soldiers, which is where the plant gets its name! Plan on using it within about a year and a half.
Each batch is listed on this page with its origin and best-by date, and certificates of analysis are available to download where we have them.
